The Grooves: Greatest Hits started as a brainchild of creator Jack Kankiewicz back in November of 2019, when he and his friends created a skit about a dysfunctional rock band.

Kankiewicz was able to draft a script, get a budget, cast his friends as actors and compose nine original songs for the soundtrack.
Everything seemed to be going to plan, until March of 2020 and the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The pandemic put a hold on production for several months. During that time, there were many concerns that the film would still be able to get completed.
Through a lot of hard work and determination, the movie was heavily revised to be COVID-safe, and continued production. Filming wrapped up in early December of 2020, and post-production wrapped up in April of 2021.
On May 17th, 2021, a red carpet premiere was held at the Liberty Cinema 12 B&B movie theater.
